P435T in drugs seized in separate operations

CEBU, Philippines — About P435,000 worth of drugs were seized and nine persons were arrested in separate drug operations in Cebu City over the weekend.

In the first operation, the suspects were identified as Francis Palabate, 36, habalhabal driver of Sitio Sidlakan, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City ; Vincent Yuson, 31, and Nestor Aguillar, 43, both residents of Mohon 2, Barangay Tisa, Cebu City.

Labangon Police Station identified Pabate and Yuson as ‘high -level targets’.

Upon verification, the Labangon Police Station personnel led by Police Major Henrix Bacoleta and personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas conducted a buy-bust operation against the three, resulting in their arrest.

Seized from the suspects were 16 packs of suspected shabu weighing 36 grams, estimated at P244,800.

In Barangay Inayawan, a trisikad driver was also arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Pardo Police Station operatives where they recovered 10 sachets of suspected shabu.

The suspect was identified as Romualdo Naag Jr., alias “RJ”, 27, a resident of Ocampo drive, Barangay Inayawan.

In an operation in Barangay Suba, P17,680 worth of suspected shabu were seized from Wilmir Sabala, alias “Bayogyog”, 25; and Leo Dotado, 33, of Catarman Cordova, Cebu City.

In Barangay Budlaan, 27 sachets of shabu with estimated worth of P34,204 were seized from Rydell Survilla, alias “Del”, 22; and his brother Ryan Survilla, 24, both residents of Sitio Rotunda, Barangay Banilad, Cebu City.

The policemen also recovered a .38 caliber revolver from them.

In Barangay Sawang, Calero, Cebu City, Alma Cabido, 51, was arrested through a search warrant that was served by San Nicolas Police Station personnel led by Police Major Keneth Paul Albotra.  Third Vice Executive Judge Marlon Jay Moneva issued the search warrant.

Policemen confiscated eight sachets of shabu worth P136,000, 16 live ammunitions of caliber .45, two magazines of caliber .45, coin purse used as container, a barrel cleaning brush and an embroidered patch indicted as ESAF- Philippine National Police- Elite Special Action Force.

The suspects are now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. — Noreen Rose C. Vilchez (FREEMAN)
