CEBU, Philippines — To address the congestion in its licensing offices, the Land Transportation Office (LTO)-7 has opened yesterday its second Mega Licensing Center in Central Visayas at the Island Central Mall (ICM) in Lapu-Lapu City.

Regional Director Victor Caindec said that those drivers who wanted to renew their licenses can now smoothly avail of its services in the city.

He also added that Mayor Paz Radaza is preparing a budget of around P3 to P4 million for the renovation of their existing LTO office at the City Hall.

While their agency has limited resources, Caindec explained that LTO is collaborating with private sectors so that their agency can efficiently deliver services to the public.

He also thanked the management of ICM for giving a space for LTO, and for extending their support for them.

Caindec added that LTO-7 is set to open two Temporary Off-Site Printing Offices (TOPOS) within this month for faster and efficient public services.

Caindec said these two additional TOPOs will be at SM Seaside City (City Wing) and at Robinsons Galleria Cebu, all in Cebu City.

He said that there are currently two TOPOs in Region 7 located in Bohol and at SM Seaside City in Cebu City (Sea View wing).

So far, aside from the current TOPO at SM Seaside City, there is also a Mega Licensing Center (facing the Pedro Calungsod Chapel).

Caindec added that an LTO office in Santa Fe in Bantayan Island will open on the first week of December of this year.

Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte recently signed Republic Act 11105 converting the Lapu-Lapu LTO extension office to an LTO regular office.  — GAN (FREEMAN)
