CEBU, Philippines — Two newly-identified drug personalities yielded over P1 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Bato, Barangay Ermita Monday evening.

Christopher Beldad “Toping” Bolo, 24, and Michael Beldad, who are first-degree cousins and both jobless, were also arrested.

Senior Inspector John Kareem Escober, Carbon Police Station chief, said Christopher was the subject of the operation.

But Michael was also present during the transaction.

Escober said the two are not included in their drug list and may have been recruited by a drug group.

“Ang subject gyud namo kay kini si Toping (Bolo), kay for several arrests namo iya name magsige lutaw, kanang alyas niya, niya kato sa operation natiyempuhan lang nga naa iya ig-agaw,” he said.

Seized from the cousins were sachets of shabu weighing 86.8 grams with an estimated worth of P1,024,240.

Escober said the volume of drugs confiscated was unexpected since Christopher was only considered as a street-level pusher.

“Sa among surveillance sa iya, dili man ingun ato kadagko ang mapalit sa iya. Wala mi nag-expect nga ingun ato kadaghan, mura bag-o guru to abot ang supply niya,” Escober said.

Over the weekend, cops also netted P39 million worth of shabu from Jeffrey Jade Cabaron in Barangay Tisa.

The cousins and Cabaron remain mum on the sources of their illegal drugs.

Escober said the cousins will be further interrogated to extract more information from them.

“Until now, sigehan namo interview pero gahi gyud di sila maningog, ang ingon ra ibilin ra daw sa usa ka laki. For now, amo pa ni utruhan until mutingog,” Escober said.

Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Debold Sinas, director of Police Regional Office in Central Visayas, has lauded the Cebu City Police Office for its successful anti-drug operations.

“Maayo ang monitoring sa illegal drugs sa CCPO which dapat i-replicate sa ubang units. Pero kinahanglan pa gihapon mag-intensify ang anti-drug operations ilabi na kay holiday na,” he said.  (FREEMAN)
