Four men nabbed in anti-drug operations

CEBU, Philippines — A minor and his friend were arrested for allegedly having in their possession hundred pieces of suspected dried marijuana leaves worth P30,000 in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Lorega San Miguel, Cebu City last Saturday night.

The minor’s companion is identified as Emanuel Trajano, 20, of Sitio Belgium Barangay Pasil.

According to Police Chief Inspector Kenneth Paul Albotra, they received reports regarding the marijuana business of the minor suspect.

Following monitoring and surveillance to confirm reports, Parian cops conducted a buy-bust operation which led to the arrest of the suspects.

Recovered from them were three five hundred peso bills, and twenty knot-tied dried leaves of marijuana.

Suspects are temporarily detained in Parian police precinct pending filing of charges.

In Lapu-Lapu City, two men, including a tricycle driver, were arrested in anti-drug operation last Saturday evening.

Maldwin Ambos Narvasa, 53, was arrested in Sitio Pasil, Barangay Maribago at around 6 p.m., said Superintendent Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office-City Intelligence Branch.

Sucalit said they were about to conduct a buy-bust operation when they caught Narvasa, a tricycle driver, carrying an unlicensed .38 revolver loaded with five live ammunition.

In a separate operation, 49-year-old Ciriaco Libot-Libot Salaza was arrested in Sitio Pasil-Looc in the same barangay at 6:30 a.m., according to Sucalit.

At least 13 small sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated from the suspect during the operation. Salaza did not resist arrest.

Sucalit said the estimated value of the seized shabu was around P6,136. They also confiscated Salaza’s alleged proceeds worth P430. (FREEMAN)
