CEBU, Philippines — More than P100,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in three buy-bust operations in the cities of Cebu, Talisay and Lapu-Lapu City.

In Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City, police seized P94,400 worth of shabu Monday evening allegedly from Alfredo Torino Pardillo, 37, of Sitio Omega, Barangay Sawang Calero.

Pardillo was arrested by members of the City Drug Enforcement Unit and Cebu City Police Office led by Chief Inspector Christopher S. Navida.

CCPO has received several complaints that illegal drug trade is rampant in the area.

Police allegedly recovered three medium sachets of shabu weighing eight grams from Pardillo.

In Talisay City, police arrested Roldan Tancinco Jr., 26, allegedly a newly identified drug personality, on Monday night.

He allegedly sold a pack of shabu to a police decoy. After the buy-bust operation, 27 small packs of shabu worth P14,000 and the P200 buy-bust money were allegedly seized from his possession.

Recently, police received information of his illegal drug business.

After a series of validation, operatives launched a buy-bust operation against him.

In Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, 33-year-old Garry Regana was arrested in a buy-bust operation Sunday evening.

Senior Inspector Genesis Aniversario, deputy chief of LCPO-CIB, together with the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) confiscated seven pieces of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P2,832 and another P320 believed to be proceeds of the illegal activity.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Office has recommended the filing of charges against two women for allegedly selling drugs to a police decoy.

Jessica Amodia of Barangay Subasbas, Lapu-Lapu City and Odessa Cuambot, alias Ode, of Villagonzalo II, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City were charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

In his complaint, Police Senior Inspector Ricardo Torrefiel of the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 alleged that on August 10, 2017, they conducted a buy-bust operation in Villagonzalo II at around 6:40 p.m.

Amodia and Cuambot allegedly helped each other in selling five grams of shabu worth P16,000 to the police.

However, they eluded arrest upon sensing that they were dealing drugs to a police decoy.

Torrefiel filed complaints against Cuambot and Amodia.

Prosecutor II Van Russel Inopiquez issued a subpoena against the two directing them to file their respective counter-affidavits but they failed.

Thus, he resolved the complaint based on the evidence available. —Mylen P. Manto, Iris Mariani B. Algabre, Christell Fatima M. Tudtud and Norhaine I. Sultan/BC-Intern/MBG (FREEMAN)
