Church publication’s website hacked

Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  The website of the Bag-ong Lungsuranon, the official publication of the Cebu Archdiocese, was defaced by a group that calls itself “Akram Stelle”, which is calling for Palestine’s freedom.

The Bag-ong Lungsoranon’s site was not the first to be hacked by the group with each hack carrying a message that reads “Hacked by Akram Stelle Freedom for Palestine.”

The message also provides a link to the group’s Facebook page but the page was not accessible as of yesterday.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. Marnell Mejia, editor-in-chief of Bag-ong Lungsuranon, told The Freeman that he will have the site administrators check on the breach. He admits that the website has been idle for quite sometime but the church is thankful that the hacking was brought to its attention.  (FREEMAN)
