Ducayag case NBI-7 asks more time to file complaint

Mylen P. Manto - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation-7 is asking for more days to wrap up its investigation on the alleged mauling to death of a shopper at a downtown department store before filing a complaint against the suspects.

NBI-7 director Antonio Pagatpat asked for an extension of the five working days he earlier promised to finish reviewing the investigation report of the agent assigned to the case because of some information that he needs to clarify from the witnesses.

“I studied the records meticulously, iniisa-isa ko kaya nakita ko na mayron pala akong dapat na ipatawag for more information,” Pagatpat said. According to him, there are missing links in the statements made by the two witnesses.

Pagatpat was scheduled to meet with the two witnesses yesterday afternoon.

Pagatpat said he wanted that all angles will be clear in order to support the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) recording.

Mario Alfie Ducayag was allegedly mauled to death by the security personnel of a downtown department store on April 12, 2013. Ducayag was apprehended after he was accused of shoplifting a pair of sandals because he lost the receipt.— (FREEMAN)
