CEBU, Philippines - The Philippine Health Insurance (PhilHealth) Corp. clarified that Benefit Package for Case Type Z is available to all members, not just to sponsored ones.
It also clarified that the benefit for Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in children is P210,000, not P120,000 as earlier reported.
However, for now, only the Z Benefits for breast cancer and kidney transplant are available at Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
PhilHealth earlier denied reports that it owes millions to private hospitals.Atty. Karisma Agraviador said that upon verification with Visayas Community Medical Center (VCMC), it was found out that their records were not updated. Philhealth has already settled the P22 million claims of VCMC.
As of now, PhilHealth is processing claims received as of May 30 this year. This means, the only claims not paid are current claims, denied claims and claims with deficiences and were returned to the hospital for compliance. — MBG (FREEMAN)
