Luigi marks 100 days in office

CEBU, Philippines - Cebu Fifth District Rep. Gabriel Luis Luigi Quisumbing claimed that in during his 100 days in office, his district benefited from several projects.

In a statement furnished to The FREEMAN, Quisumbing said he was guided by his vision of providing for a better and quality standard of education, healthcare, infrastructure and social services in the 6th District of Cebu.

He has filed significant measures on health, education, and other social services for the residents of the 6th district.

These bills include: increasing the bed capacity and upgrading the facilities of Eversly Child's Sanitarium Hospital and establishing the Cordova High school and College. Moreover, Rep. Quisumbing filed nine house bills, a resolution, and co-authored almost 20 house bills and resolutions.

On constituency services provided in the 6th District, Quisumbing forged partnerships with Eversly Child’s Sanitarium Hospital and Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center to extend access to healthcare and medical facilities for the residents of Cordova, Consolacion and Mandaue City.

He instituted reading programs and turnover of books to five day care centers in his district. A total of 2,623 constituents have already availed of and received assistance in the form of scholarships, job endorsements, medical, burial and financial assistance. He has donated 24 collapsible tents to various barangays of Cordova, Consolacion and Mandaue City.

In the pipeline are major infrastructure projects, as well as classroom repairs and school building maintenance projects.

"I have allocated funds for the rehabilitation of the Mactan Circumferential Road, the Hernan Cortes Road and the Cabahug-Logarta Road, as these are major arteries that serve much of our industry and delivery of services to our constituents and adjoining areas to the 6th district of Cebu," Quisumbing said.

 These projects are expected to commence before the year ends.

“We appreciate the support we have received from various sectors for our programs. The constituents of our district can be assured of our continuing commitment to work for their welfare,” he said. (FREEMAN)
