Electrician zapped dead

CEBU, Philippines - In what seemed to be an irony of ironies, an electrician died after he was zapped while installing wires at a commercial establishment in barangay Guadalupe past 1 p.m. the other day.

The victim, Gaudioso Manilag, 39, was installing the wirings of a proposed office of LBC at Paseo Arcenas in barangay Guadalupe when he came into contact with live wire.

His co-workers reportedly said they thought Manilag was merely joking as he always joked about a lot of things.

The next thing they knew, Manilag was already falling from the aluminum ladder he was using and hit his chin hard on the floor.

Manilag was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center but he was declared dead on arrival. His body was taken to the St. Bernard Funeral Parlor for autopsy.

Manilag was a resident of barangay Sayaw in Barili town. — Niña Chrismae G. Sumacot/JMO (THE FREEMAN)
