At least three people were killed while another one was wounded in separate shooting and stabbing incidents across the province yesterday.

Samuel Haban, 36, of barangay Tolotolo, Consolacion town died on the spot after being shot by still unidentified gunman past 10 a.m. He suffered a gunshot wound in the head.

Police investigators said the lone assailant shot Haban inside their house, adding that the gunman escaped with two other companions.

Recovered from the crime scene was a deformed slug of .45 caliber pistol. The police are still conducting operations against the perpetrator.

In Talisay City, William Endab, 23, of barangay Inayawan, Cebu City and Edmar Najena, 23, of barangay Pook, Talisay City were shot and injured while they allegedly attempted to steal an iron chair inside the house of a resident in barangay Tabunok.

A police report said before the victims succeeded in stealing the iron chair, a man appeared from their back and shot them with a homemade shotgun, hitting Endab and Najena in different parts their bodies.

Najena, however, died while he was being rushed to the hospital, and Endab is currently recuperating at Don Vicente Sotto Medical Center in Cebu City.

In Pinamungajan town, a certain Placido Bejec of barangay Sacsac was stabbed dead allegedly by Levy Dejito, 21, of barangay Tutay for undetermined reason.

Police investigators said Bejec was drinking outside the basketball court where a benefit dance was being held when Dejito approached and stabbed him several times. Bejec suffered multiple stab wounds in various parts of his body.

Sacsac barangay tanods rushed Bejec to the hospital but the attending physician declared him dead on arrival. The police are currently hunting down Dejito who remains at large. - Gerome M. Dalipe/LPM
