A Feast of Indian Cuisine

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor Ynclino - The Freeman

Last October 25, Marco Polo Plaza launched its Culinary Journey "Khana: A Celebration of Indian Cuisine," featuring the exciting explosion of Indian flavors at Café Marco. This is the third year Marco Polo has explored the rich cuisine of India. Hordes of Indian food lovers trooped to Café Marco to feast on authentic Indian dishes like the Chicken Tandoori, Lamb Shish Kebab, Chili Pakoora, Vegetable Biryani and so much more!

Khana, in Hindi, means "food". Indian cuisine is one of the most colorful and diverse in the world, from their local spices to their herbs, even their vegetables and fruits are very unique to our taste. Indian cuisine is also inspired by religious and cultural traditions, and these shaped the dietary trend in Indian society. Through the guidance of Ms. Judeline Murjani, Marco Polo Plaza's world-class chefs whipped up an authentic Indian feast for everyone.

Ms. Judeline Murjani is the president of the Murjani Group of Companies that handles retail and franchise businesses. In 1993, when there were no Indian restaurants in Cebu yet, she would cook authentic Indian dishes in her kitchen and have them delivered to offices and homes of Indian nationals or vegetarians. This passion to cook Indian food has been influenced by her husband, Devidas Murjani, a son of an Indian chef. Judeline Murjani is the mother of Miss Cebu 2013 Neesha Murjani.
