CEBU, Philippines - The wedding fair, titled "Of Veils and Trails," held on March 29 at Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa was a success. Out of the 80 couples who earlier registered, more than 100 couples actually participated. The event, which started at 11 a.m., featured different wedding events specialists, including top wedding gown designers, hair and makeup artists, videographers, photographers, pastry artists, wedding-invitation printers, jewelers, wedding planners, and other service suppliers.

The event was capped at The Marquee, one of Shangri-la's most sought-after wedding venues, where models paraded the designers' gowns right after celebrity wedding videographer Jason Magbanua's sample wedding video (custom-made for the event) was shown. Most of the participating designers were also present.

During the day-long event, different function rooms at Shangri-La were turned into themed venues by wedding event specialists. One was Moroccan themed while another one was Chinese-themed. The Ocean Pavillion, which can hold 80-120 guests, was also set up to fit the occasion.

Of the couples who joined the event, 13 won destination honeymoon packages to different Shangri-La resorts and hotels in Asia, like Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan. (FREEMAN)
