Pasigarbo sa Sugbo

Now on it’s second year, Pasigarbo sa Sugbo festival of festivals will showcase the best of what Cebu province can offer during its anniversary next month. Preparations are underway to present the best, worthy to be in the top eight.

Last year, Palawod festival of Bantayan Island bagged the top prize. The Haladaya festival of Daanbantayn finished second, followed by Siloy festival (Alcoy), Ani-anihan festival (Tabuelan), Banig festival (Badian), Tostado festival (Santander), Sinamay festival (Carmen)and Soli-Soli festival(San Francisco, Camotes) respectively.

This year may prove to be more exciting as more contingents, like Moalboal’s Kagasangan festival, are expected to join.

Among the awards that are up for grabs are Best in Costume, Best in Street Dancing, Best in Andas, Best Decorated Audio Van and Festival Queen. The ritual performance, determining the top eight, includes theme/concept/ritual, choreography, over-all performance, costume and props.

Pasigarbo sa Sugbo (Festival of Festivals) is slated on August 15 at the Cebu International Convention Center.
