Former child actor shows dramatic chops in ‘Two and One’

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky Calderon - The Freeman

Former child actor Miggy Jimenez, who was in the GMA children’s program “Tropang Potchi”, proves he is more than just a pretty face as he nearly ran away with the movie “Two and One” that co-stars him with Cedrick Juan and Paolo Pangilinan.

Directed by Ivan Andrew Payawal, “Two and One” is a film about complicated relationships. The movie may have presented gay characters, but the story can apply to all kinds of couples. It also has a very realistic ending.

Miggy plays the central character and he proves capable in handling the dramatic scenes as well as the numerous love scenes. He is very credible in his performance and we won’t be surprised if he earns praise for it.

Is he is not afraid of being typecast in gay roles, having played one in the highly-popular “Gameboys” movie and series?

“Hindi po ako natatakot kasi first of all, it’s part of the job. I would like to be able to explore doing other roles. Kung mabigyan uli ako ng character that’s part of the LGBT community, to be able to tell their story, malaking bagay po iyon.”

On his take-away from his role as Tino? “Ito po ‘yung karakter na naramdaman ko na siya ang nag-kontrol sa akin. While on the set, si Tino ‘yung karakter na gumagalaw kay Miggy. Nawawala ang personality ko as Miggy. That was one of the things that I didn’t expect kaya ‘yun po ang biggest takeaway ko sa role ko,” explained Miggy.

Miggy portrayed the role with sensitivity. He was convincing in showing his torment and anguish. He is very credible in his scenes where he is alone, wallowing in his self-caused pain and suffering.

This is a film about relationships that we will recommend to viewers of all genders. It will be streaming on Vivamax Plus starting today, October 5.

For his part, Cedrick Juan says the role of Joaquin is not for everyone. “That character with such kind of perspective and thinking is not for everyone kasi pwede siyang delikado at pwedeng makasira ng buhay. To be honest, pwede rin masira ang buhay niya at hindi na siya makabalik and mawala ang empathy niya sa mga tao. So my take-away is lagi mong isisipin ang gagawin kung ready ka sa responsibility, if ever kailangan na maging accountable siya sa mangyayari,” said Cedrick of his take-away of his role as Joaquin.

Cedrick plays the guy who agrees to do bottom for Tino and Chan since the couple doesn’t go for anal penetration and content themselves to jerking off unabashedly while kissing each other.

Tino suggests that they have a sort of open relationship. They can get another guy who’d agree to bottom for them, and it so happened that a hunky potter in the resort, Joaqu9in, is very open to this kind of arrangement. (Yes, they even have a scene that makes you recall the pottery scene from “Ghost”.)
