Fall in laughter this Valentines

Laugh your heart out with Chokoleit, Pokwang, K Brosas and Pooh in their ‘A Funny Valentine’ concert on February 11 at the Hoops Dome of Lapu-Lapu City and on February 12 at Marco Polo Plaza in Cebu City.

CEBU, Philippines - Facedown Productions and Events, headed by Shirley Grace Ong, will bring to Cebu four of the country’s prime comedians for a pre-Valentine’s show.

K Brosas, Pokwang, Pooh and Chokoleit will perform 7:30 p.m. at Hoops Dome in Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City on February 11 and 6:30 p.m. at Marco Polo Plaza Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City on February 12 in a concert dubbed “A Funny Valentine.”

Single or in a complicated relationship? This show is custom-made for you. There is no reason to feel bitter this Love Month – watch “A Funny Valentine” and fall head over heels in laughter!

Aside from the most anticipated pick-up lines, the comedy quad will also bring in a lot of “hugot lines” and “hokage moves” that are sure to send concertgoers of all ages in stitches.

K Brosas, one of Tawag ng Tanghalan sa Showtime’s resident judges, will be sharing some of the hugot lines she wrote in her book “K-Sabihan” which is set to be launched soon. Among the most popular sayings in her book is “Hindi man tayo laging masaya, lagi naman tayong maganda.”

Pokwang, who played Agnes in the recently concluded TV series “Till I Met You,” has this hugot line sample: “Ang love, hindi ‘yan hinahanap o hinihintay. Kung para sa ‘yo, kusang darating iyon!“ Is the actress – currently in a relationship with American actor Lee O’Brien – speaking from experience?

Pooh of “Banana Sundae,” better known as Manny Pookyaw won’t be left behind with a pick-up line of his own: “Gamit? Bakit? Lage nalang akong ginagamit ah! Tao rin naman ako. Nasasaktan!”

Completing the group is Davao-born Chokoleit with this musing: “Nabasa ko sa card ng gift ko. To: You, From: Me. Napaisip tuloy ako. Niregaluhan ko ba sarili ko? O gusto kung masubukan ma-surprise kunwari?”

These gifted comics – who can also belt their hearts out – have staged “A Funny Valentine” numerous times abroad, always to sold-out crowds.

“This is the first time that these four admired comedians come together for a show in the Philippines, more particularly here in Cebu, though they had been together in shows abroad,” says production head Ricky Monterona.

“This is Facedown Productions’ treat for all of us. Let’s all get a good laugh this season of hearts.”

Tickets for “A Funny Valentine” are available at The Retail Therapy store in Capitol, Cebu City, at One Events, Eden’s Place and in all Rico’s Lechon Cebu branches. For inquiries, contact Monterona at 09332316465 or 09209098104. (FREEMAN)
