ABS-CBN Cebu personalities spearhead ‘MAG-SELFI Nata’ summer workshop
CEBU, Philippines - “Start your dream with us and be the self you’ve always wanted to be.â€
SELFI, or Self Efficiency Learning Formation Institute, a newly-coined organization will be conducting its first summer workshop dubbed as “MAG-SELFI Nata.†The workshop modules will vary from personality development, modeling, makeup, TV hosting, acting, dancing, and other forms of visual arts.
ABS-CBN’s local artists Borgie Cabigas, Phoebe Kaye Fernandez, Blinky de Leon and Jonathan Cimafranca from the top-rating and longest-running magazine show “MAGTV Na!†will spearhead the mentoring and will be assisted by distinct Cebuanos who are experts in their respective fields.
For the makeup sessions, SELFI will be collaborating with one of the country’s premier brand, Ever Bilena. Classes will include the basics of putting on daytime and nighttime makeup, experimental makeup, and a lot more.
Blinky, a model and Psychology graduate, said that the idea for “SELFI†sprang from the fulfillment she felt each time she’s asked to mentor in campus speaking engagements. “We often get invited to speak in school seminars, and this inspired me to teach. Teaching is a different feeling. I realized it would be more fun if I did it with other people, such as my ‘MAGTV NA’ co-hosts. For now, we’re just testing the waters, but we have long-term goals of making this bigger someday,†Blinky said.
Open to those with ages 12-25 years old, the summer workshop will start this April 2014 and will be held at the premises of Southwestern University.
The workshop will run for one month, for a total of 12 sessions. Students will get to apply the knowledge they learned through a culminating activity, possibly a major fashion show and fashion shoots every now and then.
