CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s very own Mobbstarr joined Indie Aid Japan, a fund raising music event, created to help victims of earthquake and tsunami in Japan. It was held last May 5 at the Laundry Bar in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
The event was spearheaded by Saintz & Sinnerz Productions together with Monsoon Records and the Laundry Bar in Malaysia. More than ten favorite independent artists from all over Asia such as Kyoto Protocol, Gila Monstarz, DJ Sarasa and Darren Ashley joined the said music event.
All proceeds were given to School Aid Japan (SAJ), a Japanese organization that carries out relief programs for those affected by such calamities.
Mobbstarr was personally invited by Siva Zaphod Chadran, head of Saintz and Sinnerz Production and the organizer of the Asia Pacific Voice Independent Music Awards or AVIMA. The group, without hesitation, accepted the invitation and flew to Malaysia to be a part of the activity. “…FYI to everyone, our first hit was in Japanese…” Dice said during the event as he gave thanks for the opportunity to be part of the musicfest.
Mobbstarr or more locally known as Dice and K9, has been creating awesome tracks as independent musicians. Their music is not only known in the Philippines but also abroad. They won the AVIMA as Best Hip Hop group for two consecutive years. Recently they are working on their new single “Heartbreaker” which would be launched on May 13 at the ROBOT in Makati.
