Lights giant christmas tree, SM City unveils Village of Hope

CEBU, Philippines - SM City Cebu formally lighted the giant Christmas Tree and unveiled the Christmas Village of Hope at the Northwing Atrium  last November 9.

The lighting of the 30-ft. Christmas Tree and unveiling of the Christmas Village of  Hope were led by SM Prime’s Hans Sy, Marissa Fernan, Clayton & Joji Tugonon, Atty.Arnel Jose Bañas, VP of the Board of Trustees of Kythe Foundation, and Maria Fatima Garcia Lorenzo, founder and Executive Director of Kythe Foundation, Inc.

Music from the Mandaue Children Choir & Youth Chorus together with the Cebu Symphony Orchestra added to the Christmas atmosphere of the Northwing Atrium during the launch. Angel Romulito Pielago, the Little Drummer Boy, sang Christmas carols to the delight of the audience.

SM Prime Holdings also received a Plaque of Appreciation from Kythe Foundation for helping the foundation raise funds for laboratory procedures, blood and platelet transfusions, chemotherapy, among others, through the Christmas Village of Hope.

The Christmas Village consists of miniature houses, miniature cars, trains, and now with amusement rides and a billboard. An added attraction is the Philippine Village featuring different designs of  bahay kubo by artist and designer Lyn Deutsch of Pinococo.

Shoppers are encouraged to adopt the miniature displays in order to help the children with cancer. Names of the donors or their company name will be plastered on the figures throughout the Yuletide season.

Payment can be made to representatives of  Kythe who will be stationed at the Christmas Village of Hope display. Please make out the check to KYTHE  INC. Your name will be displayed on your house/train/carriage. Cost per house is at P5,000, train/carriage at P20,000, amusement rides at P10,000, and billboard at P25,000.
