CEBU, Philippines - Rovilla Construction assures its existing and potential customers of its highest quality construction services now that it has earned its certification from the International Organization Standardization (ISO), banking on its newest edge in the vibrant construction industry.

It was last September when Rovilla Construction was awarded with the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System Certification which was handed by the ISO certifying body, TUV Rheinland after it successfully passed two audits that were scheduled last June 7 and July 18 to 19 of this year.

ISO 9001:2008 specifies requirements for a quality management system where an organization needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and other requirements while aiming to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system.

Rovilla Construction President Romeo Villaceran shared that for a construction firm that never had a solid quality platform, the early concept of management system started the process of the company’s alignment of the organization’s “quality” work activities.

He even admitted that the practice of using documented procedures was new for the company, realizing its importance in ensuring high quality services delivered to its customers.

“We are now focused on delivering the highest quality construction services to our existing and new customers, and this did not happen by accident or chance. It is the result of implementing a quality management system containing a multitude of requirements that guide us on developing a “customer focused” quality system,” Villaceran said.

He cited that such implementation of the internationally-acclaimed standardized system has led to the organizational culture of continual improvement that includes adopting new trends and changes to existing processes and technology of the company.

”The ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard was a system that started to drive standardization within our organization by developing specific procedures and documents that defined our organization’s way of doing business,” he said.

Villaceran then noted that with the ISO certification, the company commits itself to the maintenance and sustainability of the organization’s continuous improvement, thus ensuring total customer satisfaction and quality construction service.

He cited that evident to such dedication towards sustainable quality is the development of the Rovilla quality policy that is displayed throughout the company’s facility for its employees, customers and visitors.

“Even though Rovilla already achieved this milestone of being certified, still, we will continue our journey, we would still strive to have the ability to implement a quality business culture that would put our whole organization on the same page, all working towards the same common goals,” he stated.

The company had partnered with AGF Consulting Group - Philippines, a training and consulting company, that serves around 800 clients from different industry sectors to implement best practices in an organization.

“The management commitment is the key to success of Rovilla Construction. I am sure that this organization will be one of the industry leaders in terms of quality and productivity,” AGF Consulting Group – Philippines chief executive officer Jong Fernandez said.

Rovilla Construction was established on October 2007 and has completed numerous of projects that include construction of barangay halls, seawalls, school buildings, waterworks system, bridges, roads and other infrastructure.

It began with eight workers and has now employed 500 construction workers and technical personnel at present. /JMD (FREEMAN)
