CLIP donates dry-type fire hydrants to Brgy Basak

CEBU, Philippines - As part of Cebu Light Industrial Park’s (CLIP) community development thrust and in support of the observance of the Fire Prevention Month, CLIP has recently turned over dry-type fire hydrants to Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City.

The ceremonial turnover was facilitated by ICCP Group Foundation President, Mr. Ricky Osmond,  CLIP’s Vice President for Operations, Engr. Milben Estrera, Senior Manager for Corporate Affairs Mr. Delo Aton, Brgy. Basak local officials led by Capt. Isabelito Darnayla, representatives from CLIP locators and Lapu-Lapu District’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

In a brief ceremony, the residents of the recipient community were briefed on how these hydrants function in cases of fire. A test-run of the facility was also being done. BFP’s Fire Officer Arnel Berido, however,  stressed that preventing such calamity from occuring should be a prime responsibility of the residents.

The second phase of the installation is now being undertaken in an area identified and recommended by the BFP and Brgy. Basak officials.

CLIP’s Engr. Milben Estrera revealed that Cebu Light Industrial Park together with its sister company, the ICCP Group Foundation Inc. (IGFI) has been supporting its neighboring community through various development projects that are really important and beneficial to the community.

“In line also with this, we at CLIP and IGFI are also currently strengthening our Community Emergency Response Team which is composed of CLIP personnel, representatives from CLIP locators and barangay volunteers,” Estrera added.

Cebu Light Industrial Park is an industrial estate located at M. Patalinghug Ave., Basak, Lapulapu City and is part of the Investment and Capital Corporation of the Philippines (ICCP). (FREEMAN)
