Shell launches premium performance fuels

Shell recently launched its latest generation of premium performance fuels - the Shell V-Power Nitro+ - to meet the evolving needs of its consumers for their vehicles. Shell V-Power Brand Manager Pia Que-Ang said during the product launching last August 3 held at Ayala Activity Center that the Shell V-Power Nitro+ Gasoline is the latest technology designed to deliver more power and responsiveness compared to other Shell Standard fuels.

The new Shell V-Power Nitro+ fuels include Shell V-Power Nitro+ Gasoline, Shell V-Power Nitro+ Racing and Shell V-Power Nitro+ Diesel.

“We have increased the friction modifier content to instantly reduce friction in critical engine areas, thereby helping the engine deliver more power,” she said.

She added that the latest product also contains increased detergents designed to prevent and clean-up deposits that affect engine performance.

She revealed that the product has already been made available in the gasoline stations in Cebu last July 13 but decided to have the official launch this month.

So far, Que-Ang added, that the market acceptance has been positive for the past two to three weeks.

“Kahit anong sasakyan, motor o kotse pwede. Mas maalaga sa engine kaya beneficial sa namamasada but it has the same price with Shell Super Premium. The market response is very good,” she said.

Mae Ascan, fuel scientist of Shell Global Solutions, cited that the fuels are formulated to improve the engine performance and act instantly in the car engine.

She added that the company has around 120 passionate fuel scientists and specialists worldwide who are working further on fuels innovation, development and implementation.

“At Shell, the development of fuel technology is an ongoing process. Shell V-Power Nitro+ is the latest example of this, the next step in the Shell V-Power Nitro+ performance fuel technology story,” she said. 

She further noted that the fuel formulations are designed to help control the build-up deposits in new engines and help remove deposits in older engines to help improve performance.

Compared to Shell Standard fuels, the Shell V-Power Nitro+ is an improved formulation that contains a new, more powerful detergent technology for faster and more effective clean-up of diesel fuel injector systems.

It is also intended to restore and maintain engine power through active engine protection.

Meanwhile, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation Vice President for Retail Anthony Lawrence Yam said that the new gasoline and diesel fuels are built on the innovative platforms that the company has already established.

“It’s exciting to be able to bring this new product to the Philippine market and I believe we have succeeded in making a good product even better. I would encourage drivers to try it and see for themselves what it can do,” he said.
