Clear the roads
At least we heard from an official of the city that he too has had enough of the obstructions on the road including those tents put up for wakes.
We hope that the statement of Councilor Jingjing Faelnar, the president of the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) and captain of Guadalupe, would also be backed with action.
It is true that the obstructions on the road have become not only eye sores, but also very irritating since the city has justified the towing of vehicles as a means to clear the roads, but have allowed tents to be put up not on the sidewalks, but on the road itself.
We saw one on the highway in Kinasang-an recently and it seems that the barangay officials have tolerated, if not, encouraged it.
Let’s see what happens after the call of Councilor Faelnar and we surely hope something happens soon.

We heard about the tales of the people at the Cebu South Bus Terminal and agree to the observation that maybe it is due to the new system that is put in place that still needs to be polished in order to operate smoothly.
While we look forward to a smooth operation of the terminal soon, we detest the high-handedness of Byron Garcia with the way he deals not only with the common folk, but also members of the media. We still have to get a full report of what he did to members of the media, but from what we learned it seems that Mr. Garcia seems to have once again shown his bad side.
We wonder what the media organizations are planning to do about it.

The traffic enforcers, policemen and tanods seem to have done a pretty good job in the area near the Carreta Cemetery but did not look a few more meters further ahead as traffic was blocked in the area in front of Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion where jeepneys picked up passengers.
The authorities may have prepared for the influx of people to the cemeteries, but did not think of the implications it can cause to traffic in nearby areas.
Maybe next year they can do something about that.

Traffic was relatively smooth during the holidays as many have gone out of town. Today, we expect the vehicles to be heading back to the city and life will be normal again.
We hope there would be no accidents to mar our celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day that often means going to our hometowns to visit the graves of our dear departed.
