Samsung introduces Galaxy Note 8.0

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Philippines Co. (SEPCO) unveiled last week at a press conference in Makati City its latest tablet — the Galaxy Note 8.0. It’s designed with people-on-the-go in mind, allowing them to have complete control over their communication needs and helping organize their day-to-day tasks.

The company also introduced at the event its Galaxy 8 brand ambassador, TV personality Bianca Gonzalez, who shared with the press the efficiency and productivity she enjoys using the Galaxy Note 8.0.

The slim and compact Galaxy Note 8.0, which retails for P23,990, ushers in a new era of portability and productivity wherein organizing, multi-tasking and de-cluttering are key factors to achieve true smart mobility.

Handy as it may seem, it is a powerful gadget that lets Gonzalez update her over two million Twitter followers, check her e-mails, keeps track of her hectic schedule, browse the Internet to get inspiration for her articles, read her favorite e-book, and jot down notes instantly.

She shared that she can even do all these tasks simultaneously as the Galaxy Note 8.0 allows a multi-window display so she can see all her open applications at a glance — without minimizing and/or maximizing other windows.

A writer by heart, Gonzalez particularly praised the improved S Pen and S Note features as these allow her to compose and share her articles with ease. The S Pen feature is optimized to bring out creative expressions, while giving the feel of actually writing down on a piece of paper.

With the S Pen feature, Gonzalez can write memos, crop and embellish photos, browse the Internet, and even make an entry on her diary.

The S Pen can also now be used without actually touching the screen through the advanced Air View technology. The S Pen needs only to hover over the screen to preview pictures, videos, and e-mails without opening the file or application in full.

For avid e-book readers, the Galaxy Note 8.0 intelligently calibrates itself to provide optimal conditions for prolonged reading through the Reading Mode. Eyestrain is greatly reduced as it automatically adjusts brightness, color temperature, and contrast ratio depending on lighting conditions.

Furthermore, it also has a unique eye detection feature so the device will never shut off while reading, while the S Pen allows for making annotations and marks on the actual page.

Gonzalez also gave high praise to the device’s S-Planner Digital Diary feature, which allows her to manage her busy schedule on a daily and monthly basis, attach pictures or memos on specific dates to mark a special event, and even personalize entries to make it more fun and interactive.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 also has a SIM card slot, giving it full smartphone functionality.

The Galaxy Note 8.0 hits Samsung stores today, with Samsung giving out exciting deals for new buyers of its latest device. A special first-day selling event will take place at the SM Mall of Asia Atrium wherein every buyer of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 gets a free Samsung book cover worth P1,699.

Those lining up from 10 a.m. to noon will also get a chance to win a Samsung phone via a raffle draw for every purchase of a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Up for grabs are the Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S III Mini, Galaxy Grand, Galaxy S Duos, Galaxy Y Reloaded, and E1200.
