MANILA, Philippines - Two foreign publications have separately cited in their recently held Asian awards BDO Unibank and its subsidiary BDO Private Bank (BDOPB) as the best in their class in the Philippines.
BDO was named one of the region's Icons of Corporate Governance by the Hong Kong-based Corporate Governance Asia after being consistently recognized for its good governance practice. BDO chairperson Teresita Sy-Coson, meanwhile, was cited one of Asia's best corporate directors.
BDO has the distinction of being the only bank in the country among the Top 50 ASEAN Publicly Listed Companies in Corporate Governance based on the Asean Corporate Governance Scorecard. This recognition was given in recognition of the ASEAN members' commitment to promote good governance in order to increase foreign direct investments into the region.
Meanwhile, The Asian Banker has named BDOPB the Best Private Bank-Philippines Domestic in the 2016 Asian Private Banker Awards for Distinction.
According to The Asian Banker, "not only does BDOPB offer a full-spectrum service, including advisory and discretionary portfolio management, but the bank's holistic wealth planning platform has enabled it to meet a diverse range of financial goals and objectives set by their clients across insurance, philanthropy, retirement, and new business venture requests."
