DOTC extends submission of bid documents for LRT-6

MANILA, Philippines - The government has extended the deadline for the submission of pre-qualification documents for the P65.09 billion Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 6 project until next month.

“In view of the requests for extension and in order to give bidders ample time to prepare their submissions, the deadline for submission of pre-qualification documents is moved from May 12 to June 2,” Edwin Lopez, chairman of the pre-qualification, bids and awards committee and undersecretary for operations and PPP implementation at the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), said in a bid bulletin.

The pre-qualification documents must be submitted on or before the deadline at The Columbia Tower in Mandaluyong City.

Opening of the pre-qualification documents for the project will be held at the same venue.

The LRT-6 involves the construction of the proposed 19-kilometer (km) railway from Niyog, Bacoor (the terminus of the LRT-1 Cavite extension) to Dasmariñas City.

It will have seven proposed stations: Niyog, Tirona, Imus, Daang Hari; Salitran, Congressional Avenue and Governor’s Drive.

Under the 30-year concession agreement for the project, the private partner will finance, design, construct, operate and maintain, as well as procure the rolling stock for the LRT system.

Firms that have purchased bid documents for the LRT-6 are Metro Pacific Investments Corp.’s unit Metro Pacific Light Rail Corp. and San Miguel Corp.’s San Miguel Holdings Corp.
