MANILA, Philippines - The peso strengthened by 6.5 centavos against the dollar on Monday, closing at 44.815 from the Friday's 44.88.
Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $605.9 million, lower than the $857.9 million posted the previous day.
The peso opned Monday at 44.88.
