DENR unit seeks investors for several mining projects

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Mining Development Corp. (PMDC) is looking for interested investors to jointly explore, develop and mine several limestone properties, a chromite mine, two silica mines and a perlite mine property.

The PMDC, which is attached to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), oversees the utilization and development of the country’s mineral resources.

The PMDC is set to bid out four limestone mine properties, namely the Guihulngan limestone property local in Guihulngagn and La Libertad, Negros Oriental covering 3,100 hectares; the Liloy limestone property located in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte covering 3,078 has.; the San Ildefonso marblelized limestone property located in San Ildefonso, Bulacan covering 26.6 has. and the Matalom and Maasin limeston property located in Matalom and Maasin, Leyte comprising 7,983 has.

Likewise, the PMDC is seeking interested investors in two silica mines, namely the Talibon silica property located in Talibon, Bohol covering 1,152 has. and the San Ildefonso silica property located in San Ildefonso, Bulacan covering 332.5 has.

Also up for bidding are the Lagonoy chromite property located in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur covering 240.2 has., and the Calayan Island perlite property located in Calayan Island, Cagayan and covering 1,692 has.
