Fetus found partly buried near a Talisay residence
CEBU, Philippines — A seven-month-old female fetus was found partially buried beside a house in Purok Kalapati, Barangay San Roque, Talisay City, Cebu, on Monday morning, August 31.
Police said in their report that the homeowner discovered the fetus at around 9 a.m. after checking the area following an unusual incident earlier that morning.
The report stated that a woman’s voice was heard outside the house at around 3 a.m., allegedly telling someone to hurry because dawn was approaching.
The homeowner later checked the area and found the fetus partially buried beside the house.
The discovery was reported to the San Roque Barangay Community First Responder, who then alerted authorities.
Talisay City police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery and burial of the fetus.
Authorities are also working to identify the fetus’ parents and determine how it came to be left in the area.
The remains were later brought to Laray Church in Barangay San Roque, where they were blessed before burial. — /MRM (FREEMAN)
