MANILA, Philippines — The UAAP cracked the whip on the Ateneo men’s basketball team yesterday by banning members of its coaching from the league until the completion of the investigations on the deaths of Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.

The UAAP said the ban is effective immediately, serving as “preemptive measure that’s adopted even prior to the UAAP season to preserve the integrity of the ongoing inquiry and to ensure full transparency and due process as facts surrounding the incident are being carefully examined.”

The UAAP decision will be enforced in any league-related activity, prohibiting the involved staff to engage in any capacity.

Tab Baldwin, who resigned as head coach, has made his first appearance before the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group.
