Marcos hinirang si Abalos na next DILG chief
MANILA, Philippines — Hinirang ni presumptive president Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang kanyang campaign manager bilang susunod na pinuno ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Ang paghirang kay Abalos ay inanunsiyo ng tagapagsalita ni Marcos na si Atty. Vic Rodriguez.
Kinumpirma rin ni Rodriguez na tinanggap ni Abalos ang posisyon.
“I would like to announce that chairman Benhur Abalos has been nominated to lead the Department of the Interior and he has accepted the challenge to lead the Department of the Interior and Local Government,” ani Rodriguez sa isang press briefing.
Matatandaan na si Abalos ay nagsilbing chairman ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) sa ilalim ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
Nagbitiw ito sa posisyon nang maging national campaign manager ni Marcos.
Nauna nang pinangalanan ni Marcos ang unang miyembro ng kanyang magiging Gabinete na si presumptive vice president Sara Duterte-Carpio bilang kalihim ng Department of Education.
