3 fishermen rescued off Eastern Samar

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Three fishermen who were reported missing two weeks ago were rescued in the waters off North Sabang in Borongan, Eastern Samar on Monday.

Zaldy de Jesus, 41; Luis Tupig, 37, residents of Barangay Buenavista and Renerio del Valle, 38, of Barangay Tambongon in Viga, Catanduanes were brought to the Eastern Samar Hospital for treatment, said Raffy Alejandro, Office of Civil Defense-Bicol director.

“The fishermen were on their way home when their boat capsized due to stormy  weather,” Alejandro said.
