2 barangay councilmen shot dead

MANILA, Philippines - Two village councilmen were killed in separate incidents on Friday.

Vincent Manzano of Barangay Dilavo was with his friend Ronald Edurise, 33, when an unidentified man wearing a mask entered a karaoke bar in Barangay Davila in Pasuquin town in Ilocos Norte and shot him several times.

Police said Manzano was not on their barangay drug watchlist.

In Capiz, Roger Capulso, 53, of Barangay Ilas Sur in Dao, was walking with his siblings on their way home when he was shot at around 11 p.m.

Probers are eyeing land dispute as the motive for the killing
