Bagong Ibong Adarna pinabongga ang special effects

YSTAR - Baby E - Pang-masa

Naku, Salve A., when the new version of Ibong Adarna: The Pinoy Adventure, directed by Jun Urbano, is shown, October 1, in theaters nationwide, don’t fail to watch it.

Bring with you six-year old Aries, tiyak she will enjoy the movie. Tunay na pam-bagets kasi. Although adults like us will enjoy the movie, too.

After all, who among us is not familiar with the alamat ng Ibong Adarna, as it was required reading in school, ‘di ba?

At ang ganda rin naman talaga ng kuwento of this popular creation of the late producer and director, Manuel Conde, Dad of the current Ibong Adarna director, Jun.

But as Direk Jun said, he gave his new Ibong Adarna a new flavor. While in his Dad’s version, Hari at Reyna at mga anak na Prinsipe ang mga tauhang tampok at ang locale ay tinawag na Kingdom of Berbanya (kaya nga raw, ang unang version nito, na idinirek ni Victor Salumbides with Manuel Conde as technical adviser in 1939, ay kinunan sa ibang bansa), sa kanyang Ibong Adarna, ayon kay Direk Jun, ginawa niyang Sultan at Sultana ang mga pangunahing tauhan na ginampanan niya Joel Torre at Angel Aquino at ang kabuuan ng pelikula had for backdrop kilalang tourist spots ng Pilipinas.

Hence daw, his decision na lagyan ng substitute na The Pinoy Adventure ang titulong Ibong Adarna.

Playing the role of the Prinsipe, the only child of the Sultan and Sultana is Rocco Nacino.

Bukod kina Joel, Angel, at Rocco, tampok din sina Leo Martinez who found his match as a comedian kay Benjie Paras, Lilia Cuntapay as the Witch and Ronnie Lazaro.

But ang pinakabida, of course ng movie ay the Ibong Adarna mismo, the magical singing bird.

Watch mo kung anong magiging reaction ni Aries, while she listens to Ibong Adarna sing.

For us, the production design of the movie is tremendous.

If the costumes of all the bida in the movie, including the supporting players and extras, look authentic, it is because production designer Joey Luna purchased the materials from Mindanao, no less.

Ibong Adarna, The Pinoy Adventure, which is based sa story and screenplay nina Direk Jun at Angelo Hernandez, featured two former beauty queen, Pat Fernandez and Karen Gallman, both alaga ng top fashion designer na si Rene Salud.

To prove perhaps, to girlfriend Vickie Rushton, who insinuated while still inside Kuya’s house in the katatapos na Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) All In, that he is kuripot, dahil ‘di nga raw nito siya dinadala sa mga expensive eateries tuwing he brings her out, guess what Jason Abalos surprised her for a gift-pasalubong, when finally she was released from the PBB house, where she emerged third runner-up?

A car! ‘Di nga lang niya ma-distinguish kung Honda Civic o Honda City ang car.

Basta Honda ang brand, Vickie proudly told Kris Aquino, when she guested in the show, Aquino and Abunda Tonight last Thursday.

As usual, Kris was the sole host of the show. ‘Di pa bumabalik si Boy Abunda, na nagkasakit nga.

Which reminds us of two ABS-CBN young actresses, who themselves were gifted with cars by their former, yes, former (because they are now no longer together) boyfriends.

If all of us remember, nakatanggap ng isang pink car si Kim Chiu from then her ‘‘one and only’’ Gerald Anderson.
