Free skills training offered for displaced OFWs from Kuwait
MANILA, Philippines — Free skills training are being offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to displaced overseas Filipino workers (OFW) from Kuwait to help them find new jobs or establish their own business.
All TESDA regional, provincial and district directors as well as TESDA-accredited technology institutions (TTI) have been ordered to prioritize OFWs affected by the deployment ban, TESDA director Guiling Mamondiong said yesterday.
The government imposed a total deployment ban due to mysterious deaths and abuses being committed against Filipino workers in Kuwait.
Mamondiong said the agency would coordinate with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration in contacting the repatriated OFWs.
The OFWs will be provided with food and transportation allowance.
