Evelyn Macairan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — With a big number of tourists expected to attend the Ati-Atihan in Aklan and the Dinagyang in Iloilo, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has deployed maintenance teams to ensure road safety in the two provinces.

DPWH Region 6 director Wenceslao Leaño Jr. said he has ordered district offices to make sure that the roads are in good condition for the Jan. 21 and 28 festivals.

Maintenance has been done on major roads, with DPWH personnel checking these for potholes and cracks as well as de-clogging canals.

Thermoplastic pavement markings and repainting of curbs and gutters were also done and major bridges have been lit property for nighttime travelers.
