BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — The signature morning chill in this city is starting to be felt.

The temperature dropped to 12.8 degrees Celsius at dawn yesterday.

The highland chill is expected to attract local tourists who usually come for weekend getaways.

Though a bit late this year, the onset of the cold weather attracts tourists even as the city hosts various international events starting November.

The lowest temperature so far this year was recorded at 9.2 degrees Celsius last Feb. 12.

The city’s coldest temperature was recorded on Jan. 19, 1961 at 6.3 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Baguio and other areas in Benguet drops from November until February.
