Bike rider dead, 9 hurt in mishaps

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Philippines — A motorcycle rider died after he was hit by a passenger jeepney along the highway in Barangay Nabaccayan, Gattaran, Cagayan on Sunday.

Probers said the jeepney driven by Ronnel Siazon, 37, collided with a car before it hit the motorcycle driven by Ederlino Andres.

Andres was pronounced dead on arrival at the Gattaran Emergency Hospital.

In Benguet, nine persons, including a nine-month-old baby, were injured when their sport utility vehicle rammed an electric post on Kennon Road also on Sunday.

The victims were taken to the Baguio General Hospital for treatment.
