'Odette' remains almost stationary
MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Odette has remained almost stationary since Friday night, state weather forecasters said Saturday.
In its 11:00 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said "Odette" remained stationary at 315 kilometers west of Sinait, Ilocos Sur. It packed maximum sustained winds of 90 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 113 kph.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and western Visayas will experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains.
Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 1 is still hoisted over Pangasinan.
PAGASA warned that sea travel is risky over the seaboards of northern Luzon, the western seaboard of central Luzon and the western and southern seaboards of southern Luzon.
Moderate to heavy rains within the 400-kilometer diameter of the severe tropical storm are expected, PAGASA said.
"Odette" is currently moving west northwest at 7 kph is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday.
