4 killed in Calabarzon shootings

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Philippines — Four persons were killed in separate shootings in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Quezon over the weekend.

One of the fatalities, identified as Rommel Regalado, was asleep when an unidentified assailant barged into his home in Bay, Laguna and shot him on Saturday night.

Regalado died at the scene while the assailant fled on a motorcycle.

On the same night, Allan Rotor Diana was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men as he was walking in Barangay J. Lumbreras in GMA, Cavite.

Meanwhile, Army Sgt. Clemor Dave was reportedly shot dead by his fellow soldier as they were having a drinking spree at the compound of the 514th Engineering Combat Battalion in Catanauan, Quezon on Friday night.

The assailant, identified as Cpl. Arturo Calub, was arrested after the incident.

Police are eyeing an old grudge as the motive for the killing.

Also on Friday, Rolando Bucal was shot dead by an unidentified man who barged into his home in Barangay Pantalan, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Police have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
