No classes in Davao private schools today

DAVAO CITY , Philippines  —  Classes in all levels at private schools in this city are suspended today.

Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio ordered the suspension of classes in view of the declaration of a national day of protest by the Office of the President amid planned rallies on the anniversary of martial law.

Carpio cited security and safety concerns and inconvenience the protest actions might cause to students.

A memorandum circular issued by the Office of the Executive Secretary said the suspension of classes and work today covers only the executive branch of government, local government units and public schools.
