Mimaropa workers to get pay hike

Mayen Jaymalin - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Minimum wage earners in Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) are getting a salary increase.

The Department of Labor of Employment (DOLE) yesterday said the wage increase would be implemented 15 days after the publication of the wage order.

The DOLE said an increase of P47 in the daily wage would be implemented in four tranches, with workers initially getting P5 this year.

Another P10 shall be added to the minimum pay in February 2018, P12 in August 2018 and P11 in February 2019.

It has been more than two years since the regional wage board last granted a pay increase.

The DOLE said the pay hike shall apply to all minimum wage earners regardless of their position, designation or status of employment and irrespective of the method they receive their salaries.
