3 more suspects slain in drug war
MANILA, Philippines - Three more suspected drug pushers have been killed in separate incidents since Sunday.
”High-value” drug pusher Rogelio Andres, a high school teacher, allegedly shot it out with anti-drug operatives in Purok 5, Barangay Curifang, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.
Another high-value target Oleodie Paner, alias Toto, pulled out his gun and shot policemen serving a search warrant at his residence in Barangay Lecheria, Calamba, Laguna shortly after midnight yesterday, said Superintendent Fernando Ortega, city police chief.
Also in Laguna, a certain Jerry was shot at close range by an unidentified man in Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro City on Sunday. Two sachets of shabu were recovered in his pocket, police said.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating if the killing of farm caretaker Arthur Valdez, 43, in Barangay Villa Tereda, Delfin Albano, Isabela on Sunday was drug-related.
Valdez was sleeping at a hut in the middle of a rice field in Barangay Villa Pereda when an unidentified man entered and shot him. His companion Melchor Acob, 38, was unhurt.
A motorcycle with a sling bag containing a .38-caliber revolver was found abandoned near the scene.
