Davao security beefed up

The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY , Philippines  – Eighty-five militiamen will be deployed in this city to secure residents from terrorist attack, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said over the weekend.

The militiamen, who are members of the Civilian Active Auxiliary (CAA), will be assigned at the Army-led Task Force Davao.

Duterte-Carpio said she expected the militiamen to help strengthen the security measures being implemented in the city.

She said the civilian force had to make personal sacrifi-ces like spending less time with their families in order to ensure peace and order in the city.

“Your role is very difficult, but you have to do it for our children, for your children, so they can reach their schools peacefully,” she said.

The new Task Force Davao members will be deployed in the city’s three major entry and exit points.
