Free Medical services at Carcar hospital

Iris Mariani B. Algabre - Associated Press

CEBU, Philippines - Residents of Carcar City can avail of free medical services at the Carcar Provincial Hospital from January 23 until 27.

On these days, at least 43 doctors and nurses from Kansas, USA will be at the hospital for a medical mission, said City Administrator Harold Nacua.

Nacua said those who want to avail of minor or major operations like hernia or myoma would have to undergo prior screening. Dental services would also be offered.

The medical mission will be carried out in coordination with the Philippine Medical Society and Nurses Association of Greater Kansas City.

Nacua said Carcar may have chosen because of the full cooperation given by the city government.

"Maybe because they heard from the previous missions nga mo-cooperate gyud ang city government sa Carcar and mo-provide sa tanang assistance nga ilang gipangayo," he said.

This will be the third time Carcar will hold a medical mission with a foreign partner. (FREEMAN)
