11 hurt in 12-vehicle crash on Kennon Road

BAGUIO CITY — At least 11, mostly tourists, were injured in a 12-vehicle crash at Camp 8 on Kennon Road Friday afternoon.
Rafael Valencia, chief of the rescue group 911-on-call, said one victim from Pampanga suffered left and right leg abrasions another, also from Pampanga, got head injuries. A three-month-old baby was also hurt with abrasions on the left leg.
Police have no ready details about the incident yet.
The accident occurred around 1 p.m. at the steep downgrade portion of Camp 8 when a downhill delivery truck smashed into an SUV causing a domino effect on several other vehicles before and after them.
Victims were brought to the hospital for medical attention.
Vehicular traffic in the city has slowed down as the Christmas rush began and with the influx of tourists arriving via Kennon and Marcos Highway.
It is expected that the traffic situation will further worsen come Christmas and New Year’s eve here.
