Maguindanao vice mayor slay suspects held at MILF camp
COTABATO CITY, Philippines – The suspects in the killing of Datu Saudi Ampatuan town vice mayor Anwar Sindatok last month are under the custody of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Ghadzali Jaafar, MILF vice chairman, told reporters yesterday the suspects were turned over by Ustadz Wahid Tundok, a senior MILF commander in Datu Saudi Ampatuan.
Jaafar refused to answer when asked if and when the suspects would be turned over to the police.
Von Al-Haq, spokesman for the MILF, earlier said the suspects belong to the MILF’s 118th base command.
Sindatok was reportedly killed on suspicion that he led the police to Mayor Samsudin Dimaukom, who was killed in a drug sting on Oct. 28.
President Duterte earlier identified Dimaukom as among the local officials on his narco list.
MILF sources said Sindatok’s killers were relatives of three of Dimaukom’s slain companions.
