2 dead in Catanduanes road mishap

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – Two persons died and five others were injured when a motorcycle collided with a tricycle along the national highway in Barangay Alibuag in San Andres, Catanduanes yesterday.

A report reaching Camp General Simeon Ola here identified the fatalities as Merly Solmerano, 48, a resident of Barangay Datag, and Ernesto Oclares, 68, of Barangay Cabcab, passengers of the tricycle driven by Felicito Diaz, 62.

The victims died while being treated at the EBMC Hospital in Virac.

Sandy Solmerano, 18; Marck Jun Primo, 16; Ailyn Caballero, 16; Edward Millare, 26, and Diaz were injured.

Probers said the motorcycle hit the tricycle while overtaking another vehicle.
