Pampanga ‘green’ firms cited

SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – The city government has recognized local companies and business establishments that complied with environmental laws and regulations.

Mayor Edwin Santiago said the recognition was part of the city’s observance of the National Environmental Awareness and Clean Air Month.

Santiago said among those awarded are the San Miguel Yamamura Packaging Corp., San Fernando Beverage Packaging Plant, Metal Closure and Lithography Plant San Fernando, San Miguel Brewery Inc., SM City, Pepsi Cola Products Philippines Inc. and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center Inc.

The city government conducted activities promoting environmental awareness, preservation and protection.

Among these events were the eco-bag painting and the jingle and lantern-making contests.
