Agusan judge hurt in slay try

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – A judge in Agusan del Sur and his bodyguard were wounded in an ambush along the diversion road in Baragay Limon in this city at around 7 a.m. yesterday. 

Chief Inspector Christian Rafols, Butuan City police Station 2 commander, identified the victim as Hector Salise, 64, executive judge of the regional trial court of Bayugan City and Police Officer 3 Edmund Narvasa.  

The victims were in a Toyota Innova (SGS-179) on their way to Bayugan City when they were fired at by men in a silver Montero. They were taken to a hospital in this city for treatment.

Probers are eyeing illegal drugs as the motive for the attack. Salise is handling several drug cases.
